* Programming in RPG IV, ILE, RPG FREE and RPGSQL.
* System Analyst and technical lead for Social Security Number Impact analysis and remediation.
Designed application to analyze files, fields and programs to determine impact of removing
Social Security Number from database, programs and network folders. Led programmers in design
and requirements for gathering needed information for upper management to determine workloads for
project. DOS scripts created to create lists of Excel files in network folders. Created Excel
Macros to read through lists of files on network folders and mask SSN in Excel files. There were
50 folders containing 7000 individual Excel files.
* SQL performance enhancements to increase throughput and resource utilization. There were
projects where system utilization and runtime were improved between 60% and 90%. Typical job runtimes
reduced from 10 hours to 2.5 hours. iSeries data base monitoring used to view Access Plans of files
being used for SQL optimization. Optimization done by a combination of rewriting embedded SQL,
creating aggregated work files to reduce record counts from hundreds of million to thousands
and adding indexes or access paths for query optimization.
* Extensive use of service programs and ILE functions. Designed and implemented reusable procedures,
using the flexibility of exported procedures.
* Application design and programming for maintenance of XML style sheets stored in physical files.
XML style sheet physical files used in RPG programs to build XML Excel reports.
* All projects accompanied by business and technical specification, test plan with test case
scenarios supported by documentation of results. Formal approval processes were in place to
promote completed task to production. Aldon and MKS Implementer used for version control.
* iSeries Navigator SQL used extensively for test data validation.

* Conversion of open source HTTPAPI project by Scott Klements to company standard sources
